Target audience:

Over the course of two years, the project supported at least 200 migrants entrepreneurs legally-staying third country nationals, second generation migrants across 4 EU states, i.e. Italy, Belgium, France, and UK, offering them the chance to acquire the self-confidence, the skills,the ability and the networks necessary for a successful entrepreneurial path. In addition, overall 20 organisations received a training on the Entrepreneur Migrant Engagement Pathway; 10 mentors /cultural mediators-facilitators have be trained to deliver effective support and advice to migrants entrepreneurs; at least 100 stakeholders / organisations took part in the workshops in Italy, France,UK, Belgium; and at least 60 organisations or individuals  became active as members of the National Hubs. Indirectly the project reached out the migrant communities living in the project countries, as well as stakeholders, experts, supporting organisations, local authorities and policy makers at local, national and EU level.

    Project Description

    The ELYME project is an  entrepreneurship support programme targeted to people from a migrant background permanently residing in the EU.
    The aim is to support this target group to either start a business or to support the growth and development of an existing business. The overall objective of this project is to support entrepreneurship among migrant already permanently residing in the EU, in order for them to become self-confident, self-employed and build a successful enterprise (profit-generating and/or with social objectives) in the host countries.

    The project will achieve this objective by offering a targeted and comprehensive business creation support scheme that takes into account the migrant and well as an inter-cultural approach.

    Impact And Acchievements

    • Provide effective tools and methods to assess the entrepreneurial skills and competencies and potential of migrants 
    • Develop and deliver a tailored training program for two sub-target groups, i.e. PRE-START UP and START UP 
    • Provide migrants practical insights into the entrepreneurial aspects of planning and setting up a business, improve their understanding of self-employment and provide mentees with a coaching environment in which they can achieve their entrepreneurial goals, through the Mentoring Circles Methodology 
    • Build National Hubs to connect stakeholders, engage migrants, and multiply project results also after the end of the project 
    • Raise awareness and connect the main stakeholders in the field of supporting migrants entrepreneurs at local, national and EU level .
