Local Solidarity Workshop – Terrassa, Spain | October 21–22, 2025
Under the framework of the European PRO-MOTE project (Promoting Migrant Opportunities, Training and Employment), Cecot organised a two-day training workshop aimed at migrants interested in starting their own entrepreneurial journey. The initiative sought to respond to the labour challenges faced by migrants and refugees across the European Union and to promote self-employment as a viable pathway to integration.
The workshop, held on October 21 and 22, 2025, provided participants with practical knowledge, business management tools, and personal development exercises to better understand what it takes to create and manage a successful business.

Entrepreneurship as a Real Path to Labour Inclusion
“The path of entrepreneurship is a real way to facilitate the labour integration of migrants,” emphasised Judit Pañella, Project Manager of Cecot’s Entrepreneurship and Business Growth Area.
“For this reason, at Cecot we offer tools and guidance to help participants transform their talents and experiences into viable and sustainable projects,” she added.
Throughout the sessions, participants explored various aspects of the entrepreneurial process — from developing a business idea to understanding the Spanish business environment and identifying support mechanisms available for newcomers.
Practical Learning and Tools for Sustainable Businesses
The workshop combined theory with hands-on learning and focused on three main topics:
- Starting the entrepreneurial journey and discovering personal potential: helping participants recognise their strengths and motivations as a foundation for business success.
- Business transfer as an alternative to starting from scratch: introducing Reempresa, Cecot’s programme promoting the continuity of existing businesses by transferring them to new owners, thereby reducing the risks associated with starting a new company.
- Negotiation as a key competence for entrepreneurship: strengthening essential communication and negotiation skills to build partnerships and manage clients effectively.
Participants engaged in interactive exercises and discussions, sharing their own professional experiences and aspirations. The sessions also provided insights into the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, available support services, and funding opportunities for migrant entrepreneurs.

Commitment to Inclusion and Social Cohesion
Through this initiative, Cecot put its long-standing experience in entrepreneurship and employment promotion at the service of the PRO-MOTE project. The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to inclusion and social cohesion, aiming to foster new opportunities for those who come to Europe seeking a better future.
